Frasers Tower

182 Cecil St, Singapore 069547

Frasers Tower comprises a 38-storey office tower, an adjacent 3-storey retail podium and a park of its own that connects to Telok Ayer Park.

The primary approach to the development, as one travels from Anson Road to Cecil Street, focuses on the southwest façade of the tower.

From this remarkable vantage point, the tower soars from a rectangular base and flares outwards as it rises, accommodating larger floor plates at the lower portion of the tower, before tapering inwards towards the top as the core reduces.

The tapering tower form also helps to distance the development from the neighbouring buildings, setting it apart in the crowded context. The southwest façade is also designed to be canted to embrace a new paved and landscaped forecourt with many water features.

The façade’s lower portion is articulated with a serrated curtain wall that forms the shape of a triangulated arch which gives the tower the character of a gateway. Clear and taut, the serrated glass and metal curtain wall cascades down the tower wall and peels off from the tower’s body to create a welcoming canopy above the main office entrance.

The retail podium breaks away from the conventional 4-storey block into 3 levels of cascading landscapes that visually connects to the park. The frontage of the podium is designed to continue the existing urban fabric of shophouses along Telok Ayer Street.

With the recent shift towards the co-working trend, there is a need for offices to provide space that inspires working collectively. Thus, by blurring the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces in four community zones – The Sky at roof garden; The Terrace at level 4; The Oasis at the retail podium and The Park at level 1 – stronger synergy across functions is created.
