CLIENT: KLCC Properties Bhd
STATUS: Phase 1 Completion – 2006, Phase 2 Completion – 2011
Impiana KLCC Hotel & Spa was developed by KLCC Properties Bhd in response to a need to have a 3 Star Hotel to complement the 4 Star Traders Hoteland the 5 Star Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Nevertheless, the Impiana Hotel eventually was developed as a 4 Star Flagship Hotel.
The original proposal was to create a large hotel with as many Guest Rooms as possible with all facilities supported by the KLCC Convention Centre linked by an elevated pedestrian walkway.
The Hotel Operator eventually managed to incorporate a Banquet Hall and Function rooms, thus being independent of the KLCC Convention Centre. However, plans for 4 High End Restaurants were finally reduced to 1 Coffee House at street level and a Fine Dining Restaurant at the roof level of the lower block.
The Building was formerly the Holiday Inn on The Park; 1st Phase was the renovation of the existing block and a new wing; and the 2nd Phase was an additional tower above the podium car park. A small Swimming Pool was located above the Banquet Podium; for Feng Shui reasons the Operator did not want the pool on top of the Hotel Block.
