The image shows the existing McGill College Avenue, looking north towards Mont Royal and the beautiful campus of McGill University. McGill College Avenue was re-designed in the likeness of a boulevard in 1989. The project led to the widening of the public right-of-way and the creation of a tree-lined median along the avenue. Local residents came to identify McGill College Ave with this sight every spring. Our proposal kept the landscape concept and expanded it to create usable public spaces along the Avenue.
