This project involved installation of 182 number of large diameter bored piles (piles size are 1400mm, 1600mm and 2000mm diameter) at tower blocks with 31.4m of penetration depth and 781 number of 500mm diameter bored piles at Podium area with 19.60m of penetration depth.
The project was completed within schedule given with full support of 7 boring rigs during the peak production stage. Despite all challenges, CSBP demonstrated professionalism and commitment by completing this project without compromising quality, safety and environmental standard.
The challenges of this project include;
Congested working space of 11,240m2 with only one access during piling works,
Need to monitor the noise level closely as residential flats are in closed proximity with site,
Need to pay more attention during concreting of 500mm diameter pile as tremie pipe easily choked during concreting,
Pile cut off level is about 10m below piling platform level, piles with good verticality is very crucial,
Some of the piles required to socket into SILTSTONE (S4 or better). The required socketing length per pile is about 1.45m to 10.75m with RQD (%) value of 10 to 53.
