DECO Australia is proud to announce that its DecoClad® aluminium cladding system has achieved a Fire Resistance Level (FRL) of -/30/30 following rigorous testing carried out by Ignis Labs in accordance with AS 1530.4: Fire Resistance Tests for Elements of Construction. Already tested and certified to AS 1530.1 and AS 1530.3, this additional testing follows new installation methods to confirm DecoClad® maintains its performance under extreme fire conditions and complies with AS 1530.4 and BAL-FZ (Bushfire Attack Level – Flame Zone) requirements when installed according to the DecoClad FRL -/30/30 Installation Guide.
The FRL -/30/30 rating confirms that when installed according to the specified FRL installation methods, the DecoClad® system resists flame and heat penetration for up to 30 minutes, providing critical protection and compliance in bushfire-rated zones. “Achieving an FRL -/30/30 rating for DecoClad® reinforces our commitment to delivering not only beautiful but also safe and compliant architectural cladding solutions,” said Richard
Hamber, General Manager at DECO Australia.
“Made from 100% solid, non-combustible aluminium, DecoClad® has long been trusted in BAL zones. This new installation method and certification to AS 1530.4 ensures architects and builders can specify DecoClad® with even greater confidence for projects in the most fire-prone areas of Australia.”
The certification covers all profiles in the DecoClad® system range, including Narrowline, Shadowline, V-Groove, Weatherboard 160mm & 180mm, Croatia Board, Castelline, and Seamline – offering a complete suite of stylish, compliant options for fire-safe façade designs.
