Elevators

A vertical lift, or elevator, carries people or goods between floors or levels of a building via cables, hydraulic cylinders and roller tracks. Although some pumps use hydraulic fluid to elevate a cylindrical piston like a jack, elevators are often powered by electric motors that drive traction cables and counterweight systems like a hoist.

Passenger Elevators: Any elevator designed to carry people through a building is a passenger elevator. The size, speed and interior features of these elevators might vary greatly depending on the elevator's intended usage.

High-Speed Elevators: When it comes to operation, high-speed elevators frequently resemble conventional lifts. High-intensity cables attached to the lift vehicle move with the aid of a pulley, while the lift itself is propelled upward and downward by a motor, faster than a conventional lift. The EN 81-20 standard states that a lift qualifies as a high-speed lift if it is faster than the 4m/s speed restriction, requiring additional compensation ropes.

Transport Elevators: The purpose of freight elevators is to transport supplies and equipment. Freight cars move more slowly, can transport much bigger loads, and are built to resist more demanding working conditions than passenger elevators.

Service Elevators: Service elevators offer a different means of transporting personnel, residents, and cargo, keeping a lot of potentially disruptive transportation in the background. This makes these systems very effective additions to any service facility.

Lifts
A lift, sometimes known as a platform lift, is a motorized device intended to raise an occupant over a vertical barrier, such as a high step or a flight of stairs, most frequently for those who use a wheelchair or another assistive device. They are frequently placed in residences and commercial buildings as well as on buses and trains.

Adaptive Lifts
With the use of a mobility lift, a person can get into a room that would otherwise be inaccessible. Some mobility elevators carry a user using a chair or sling. Others can carry a user and their mobility device, like a wheelchair or mobility device.

Escalators
An escalator is a moving stairway that transports people between floors. It consists of an individually linked chain of steps, rotating on a track.

Travelators
Travelators, also known as moving walkways, are commonly used in airports. They move people over considerable distances between terminals and concourses.

Dumbwaiters
A small freight elevator or lift designed to transport food is called a dumbwaiter. Dumbwaiters are connected across numerous floors in buildings, including commercial, public and private ones.
