Guangzhou Haizhu Hopson Mall 广州海珠合生广场

Haizhu District, Guangzhou, China

Respect to local culture and sustainable design with innovative ideas make Jumbo Globe’s projects stand out in the market. Haizhu District, where the project locates, was one of the pioneering industrial districts known for its textile and clothing, which has brought the economic miracle and become a milestone of the city’s history. After years of development, Greater Bay Area plan, and new positioning strategy for the district boosting digital economy and advanced technology, the district urges a place that could link its proud past with the exciting future.

JG’s “Fabric of the Future” idea takes a further step, recreating the organic pattern of fabrics through the façade design to build the unique history memory link for people around this area. The use of new technology and expanded greenery enhances customer experience and activates the space into a more welcoming and sustainable landmark, as well as a family-friendly leisure space.

Signature canopy at the main entrance is intended to provide a large shelter space from the sun, lowering the temperature to improve air-conditioning efficiency and reduce the discomfort caused by entering air-conditioned indoor during summer. Lighting system and advertising displays use the latest LED technology. Solar panels are integrated into canopy and rooftop structure. Semi-opened catering space and terracing design with great use of green plants introduce more natural sunlight and fresh air. All helps reduce carbon footprints and cost of maintenance to achieve sustainability for the environment and sustainable commercial development.

Our project embraces open space and the use of green, providing a friendly environment for all, activating the area and pioneering for sustainability. At the entrance, naked-eye 3D screen is used to excite and attract visitors from the road crossing, bringing immersive experience and creating a trendy hotspot for this area. With the latest LED technology, the screen is more energy efficient and reliable. Metal streamlined façade with interactive lighting imitate the data transmitting through fiber optics, visually connecting its fabric history with latest technology.

3 levels of outdoor terraces with alfresco dining spots are created to the South Elevation, they bring outdoor spaces up to a building’s upper levels, introduce views to the outdoor experience, create an urban connection between the user and external context. External staircases lead the people to our third entrance at a higher level to increase circulation in the upper floors. Roof garden has expanded for communal area to accommodate the public, garden areas with plantings and trees can reduce heat island effect.

There are four key objectives: Passing on the heritage of the district, bringing in latest technology and sustainability, solving problems that client has encountered, create more leisure and family-friendly spaces for all, and increase the value of the shopping mall. To meet the objectives, our team has done detailed research of the district, constantly communicated with client to understand their needs and performed internal trainings on latest technology and sustainability. With years of experience in working with clients from different cities in mainland China, our communication is smooth and effective, and also our client is satisfied with our design and services.

We are very proud and happy to see that our understanding of connecting the past with future can actually benefit the local community, passing on the history of the district, creating a family-friendly and green architecture. Our project is in the heart of the district where our pioneering concepts in technology and sustainability can actually inspire the local people and bring positive changes to the society when it comes to preserving local cultures, educating people what sustainable design is, and helping the people keep up with latest technology for a better future.
