Architectural Intelligence 2024: AIA International Conference Concludes in Hong Kong
The AIA International Conference 2024, held from October 23rd to 27th, brought together a vibrant mix of architects, designers, and thought leaders in Hong Kong, all united under the theme "Architectural Intelligence." Hosted by the American Institute of Architects (AIA), this year’s conference took place at The Henderson, a stunning architectural marvel designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, providing a breathtaking backdrop for discussions on the future of architecture.

Training Programme: Sharing smart lighting technologies with Asian countries on 9 June 2024
According to the “Global Asia Pacific Smart Lighting Report” by Astute Analytica, the Asia Pacific smart lighting market is expected to achieve a valuation of USD 11.6 billion by 2030. This projection indicates significant growth from an estimated revenue of USD 4.3 billion in 2022, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 12.6% during the forecast period of 2023 – 2030.
In response to the opportunities presented by the smart lighting market, GILE 2024 is pleased to announce a comprehensive training program designed for lighting manufacturers, lighting engineers, and lighting designers. This training program will focus on sharing insights into smart lighting technologies, covering topics such as control technologies, sensors, cloud integration, communication protocols, and AI technology.

Ooo is a café located in To Kwa Wan, one of the down-to-earth areas in Kowloon. The unpretentious design of the shop is cohering to the core idea of the café. Ooo stands for “out of office”, which aims to be a place for chill-out after-work.

This Experiential Hub was specially designed an immersive experience for the visitors at The Arles. Inspired by the concept of season of life, QUAD studio creates a tangible yet speculative Installation. It captures the natural elements of the outdoor landscape of The Arles and reimagined them taking the visitor to another extraordinary world. Using the characteristics from the four seasons, each space is choreographed intentionally to evoke different emotions to visitor. An Artistic interpretation of the landscape garden of The Arles.

Located at the harbour front of the West Kowloon Cultural District, the Hong Kong Palace Museum is designed as a distinctive treasure house for Chinese art, culture and history, exhibiting selected art pieces from the Palace Museum and other fine objects from across the globe.
The seven-storey building features an exhibition space of 7,800m² across nine galleries. It also houses the Auditorium, Activity Rooms and other ancillary facilities, offering spaces for a rich variety of public programmes to foster visitors’ interest in arts and culture.
In collaboration with Rocco Design Architects Associates Ltd, Arup provided total engineering consultancy services, including geotechnical, structural, building services, façade, fire, sustainability, security, acoustics, lighting, audio-visual, landscape design and transport consulting.
Arup also acted as the building information modelling (BIM) manager for this project – BIM was fully implemented in the design process, with all design coordination being carried out in the 3D environment.

They have supported a lot of families in Hong Kong by assisting them on daily routine chores to keep things in order. They have contributed to $12.6 billion to the economy. They are an indispensable part of our community, and their welfare deserves our attention.
